BASE Benefits: (Buyer and Seller Exchange)

SITE Benefits: (Surplus Inventory Trading Exchange)

New York, NY, April 28, 1997 -- ACQUION announces the release of their new Industrial Marketplace featuring the latest versions of BASE (Buyer and Seller Exchange) and SITE (Surplus Inventory Trading Exchange). BASE and SITE are both web-based procurement solutions with different objectives. BASE houses up-to-date supplier catalogs focusing on reducing sourcing time, money and opportunity costs for industrial suppliers and buyers. SITE, a virtual warehouse, identifies and connects buyers and sellers of surplus equipment and materials in real-time, turning these unused assets into profits. Both BASE and SITE are free to buyers and offer descriptive line-item detail on thousands of products.

Electronic catalogs, fueled by the goal of better asset and cost management, are quickly becoming the industrial procurement preferred method of choice. What differentiates BASE and SITE from simple catalog listing services, such as IndustryNet, is that ACQUION follows through with services on the back end of the procurement cycle. Instead of drilling down through multiple supplier listings and manually creating RFQs and POs, one search in BASE yields a sortable comparison table from which desired items may be added to a shopping basket, and RFQs and POs submitted electronically. SITE exceeds simple surplus listing services with advanced functionality such as the bid management featuring bid/inquiry creation, review screen, and reports. Other new areas on SITE include: Surplus Network, Auction & Bid listings and Bulletin Board for surplus want ads.

ACQUION, located in Greenville, SC, began pioneering electronic commerce solutions in 1994 with an integrated electronic catalog product, called GETS (Global Electronic Trading System). As an affiliate of Fluor Daniel, the global construction and engineering corporation, ACQUION offers procurement expertise to its product users and partners.
